Pump rheswm i ddod i Tyfu

From great coffee to a supportive community, we asked the families who visit us for their top five reasons they love coming to Tyfu

We made Tyfu for parents because we are parents too. We get it. We’ve been there, and some of us are still there in the trenches. Whether you’re in the depths of the terrible twos, have been awake all night with a baby, or you’re a grandparent doing it all over again, Tyfu is a small, intimate space that’s as much for the adults as it is for the kids.

Nothing makes our hearts fuller than seeing a coffee cup in your hands and hearing what you love so much about us. So, with words straight from the families who visit us, these are the top five reasons they come to Tyfu.

1. The Tyfu Family
“How welcome they make you feel”

From our full-timers to our weekend ‘Tyfuccinos’, the universe knew exactly what we needed when we were searching for the perfect people. We remember names, favourite coffees, and ar always ready to help you with whatever you need during your visit.

For us, it’s not about serving drinks or standing behind the counter. It’s about being supportive, attentive, and there for you. We want you to feel genuinely welcome every single time you walk through our doors.

We’ve got you.

2. A safe space
“Somewhere I can go to take a moment and not feel guilty about it”

This is at the heart of what we set out to create. We envisioned Tyfu as a sanctuary, your home away from home. We want you to know that you can slow down from the moment you arrive, whatever that may mean to you as a parent or carer.

You can sit and drink your coffee while it’s hot, knowing that your children are always within sight. Our nurturing role-play area encourages independent play and imagination, so they know you are still there watching, while you know they are safe. Whether you choose to sit back, join in, or do a bit of both, our space is designed to let children be creative on their own, but also invites their grown-ups to imagine with them.

You can be present and connected while still being able to take a minute for yourself.

3. Our community
“A really lovely community”

When you come to Tyfu, it’s a chance to connect with your children, and a community of like-minded parents, grandparents, and carers that want something different from the hustle and bustle of the bigger soft plays. We wanted to create a community that embraces both adults and children, and nothing makes us happier than knowing that we have done that for you.

From our Tyfu Babis classes, giving tired parents a chance to connect with each other, to our open-seating area, and our evening events carefully chosen to nurture your wellbeing too, our community is everything we hoped it would be.

4. Bilingual
“We love that it’s bilingual”

Being exposed to another language as a child has been proven to enhance thinking and learning abilities. Our Welsh identity is such an important part of who we are, and at Tyfu, we believe the language should be championed and celebrated.

When you visit, we want you to feel comfortable speaking as much or as little Welsh as you want. Whether it’s your first language, something you are learning, or something you are just beginning to explore, we are happy to share and enjoy the language together.

From a simple croeso or siwmae when you arrive, to a conversation entirely in Welsh, Tyfu gives you and your child the space to use the language through play, interaction, and meaningful connection.

5. The Coffee
“Good coffee and pastries”

We take care of every tiny little detail, from how the lighting makes you feel, to what you drink and eat, so you can truly relax when you’re here. Good coffee and good food can make or break a visit, which is why it was so important for us to carefully choose our coffee, and offer something delicious to eat, because your needs are just as important as the children’s.

As well as championing the language, we love to champion Welsh businesses, so we chose Swansea-based Crafty Smugglers for our coffee and our pastries and bread are from a variety of small bakeries across South Wales.

If it’s your first coffee of the day, or the only thing fuelling you right now, know that you can come to Tyfu for a well-deserved treat because you matter too. Catching up with friends, enjoying a quiet moment or needing a little extra connection with your child, Tyfu is a place you can come to recharge, pause, and be reminded that you’re not doing this alone.
