Tyfu’s first intentions workshop is designed to help you reflect, reset and move into the new year feeling positive and ready to step out of your comfort zone.

January is the month most of us decide to make changes, set resolutions, and promise to be different. But this often puts too much pressure on us to stick to goals that don’t always fit in with what the year actually has in store for us.

Rather than set ourselves up for failure, this workshop invites us to use the new year to pause and reflect on what we actually want the next 12 months to look like. Instead of making rigid resolutions, that can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, we could reframe and change through intention, allowing ourselves space to grow, adapt, and be open to what the universe has in store for us, whilst still making the changes we truly want.

Setting intentions matters, because if we don’t, they are just thoughts, or ideas that may never come into fruition. Throughout my journey of visualising and bringing Tyfu to life, I met many mothers, who told me they had changed since having babies. They said that what they did before no longer aligned with who they were now. It just didn’t fulfil their needs anymore.

I saw Tyfu as more than just a play café. From the beginning, I imagined it as a community space where like minded people could come together to support, uplift and help each other. This workshop marks the beginning of that vision, and how I want to expand what we have already created as we move into 2026.

The date of the workshop is significant. The month holds deep meaning as it marks exactly two years since my journey, to really creating Tyfu, began. It is also the first new moon of the year, a powerful symbol of new beginnings.

My new beginning came in January 2024. I knew I desperately needed to make a change. I was stuck in a toxic work environment and was a different person from who I was before having my babies. I am very open about how I manifested Tyfu into what it is today by setting my intentions, working with lunar cycles, and listening to my instincts.

None of this could have been done without my beloved yoga teacher Emma, who introduced me to this process, and without her I’m not sure I would be where I am today. She was such an integral part of my life when I knew something needed to give, and by May 2024 I had left my job.

I wanted to be a better role model for my children, and the first step in doing that was changing the things that were making me unhappy. This workshop is rooted in that experience, to remind you that you don’t have to be stuck, and that even small intentions can make the biggest difference to where you want to be in a year’s time.

Setting intentions is different from making resolutions. It’s not about quitting, it’s not about having all the answers, it’s about listening to yourself, trusting change, and knowing that you are allowed to choose differently. That’s the heart of this wellbeing workshop. It’s a space for you to set your own goals, with no pressure, and by doing it alongside other like-minded people and holding accountability it can lead to higher successes in creating your dreams.

The workshop will run for two hours and will include Emma introducing us to how we can work with the new moon, along with a guided practice to visualise your intentions. We will then be joined by Simone, a parent I met along the way, who will help us make a personalised intentions bracelet to mark the occasion of change in your life.

Together, these create a chance to reflect and consciously signal a shift in your mindset, with no pressure or expectation. January can be a moment where you choose differently, no matter your beliefs, and Tyfu is here to hold space for intention, reflection, and growth as you discover who you are now.
